Coming up on Tuesday, December 15, is another chance for those in need to get free food to feed their families. The event is also completely contactless.

Shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic hit Illinois, a partnership began, that has put over one million pounds of food on the tables of families across the Rockford region. Over the last ten months, this group of individuals have hosted several drive-thru food distributions, and on Tuesday, December 15th, they will do it again.

City First Church and the Northern Illinois Food Bank will be distributing free food, starting at 10:00 a.m. until supplies last. The event will take place in the church's parking lot at 5950 Spring Creek Road in Rockford.

If you or someone you know is in need, be sure to share this information. The drive -thru is contactless and all you have to do is open your trunk and a volunteer will put boxes of protein, fresh produce and dairy products inside.

Interested in volunteering to help distribute food on this day?  Email serve@cityfirst.church to sign up. If you'd like to make difference by donation to the COVID-19 Relief Fund, be sure to visit cityfirst.church/give.
