Rockford Police have charged four men in with residential burglary after they allegedly took scrap metal Thursday from a vacant building in the 1400 block of Blaisdell St.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a burglary in process just after noon at the old Church School. Upon arrival, one male was found in the rear parking lot of the school.

Rockford Police officers along with the Rockford Park District K-9 unit searched the property. Three suspects were found hiding on the second floor.

Police say their investigation released the suspects entered the school and were removing scrap metal with the intentions of taking it from the scene.

William Breedlove, 20; Norman Breedlove, 22; Edward Mendez, 19; and Dezmond Wilkerson, 21; all of Rockford were each charged with residential burglary.
