Selling alcohol is the latest effort, from Family Dollar, to attempt to overhaul their stores. And it's not the only change coming.

About 1,000 Family Dollar locations around the country will begin selling booze this year, according to parent company, Dollar Tree's announcement on Thursday (5/30). Don't get to excited, it's not likely you'l be able to pick up a bottle of Tito's vodka for a buck.

One of the other changes coming, which would include the bottles of alcohol, is adding products that cost more than $1. Those products, referred to as Dollar Tree Plus!, will be offered at 100 Dollar Tree locations.

The announcement did not include which Family Dollar stores will carry alcohol or which Dollar Tree locations will sell Dollar Tree Plus! merchandise. They did say that the alcohol will be coming fiscal year 2019.
