I was today years old when I found out about this weird Wisconsin drinking rule.
The Daily Meal published a story about nine of the most bizarre alcohol laws in America, and this one in the Badger State really made me lean forward and question whether it is for real.
A Strange Wisconsin Alcohol Law That Stops You Mid-Scroll
Apparently, even with Wisconsin's legal drinking age of 21, people under 21 can legally drink at a bar or restaurant as long as they're accompanied by a parent, guardian, or spouse of legal drinking age.

There is a catch, though, the bar or restaurant can refuse service because, while I guess it's legal, it's not mandatory.
The Fine Print Bars and Restaurants Can Say No
Health experts are against the idea with good reason, warning that early exposure to alcohol can increase risky behavior later on.
Wisconsin isn't alone, though, when it comes to minors and booze. People under 21 may be in possession and consume alcohol for a "family exception" in a host of other states in America.

Wisconsin Is Not the Only State With Family Drinking Exceptions
In case you're wondering, Illinois also allows for alcohol consumption and carry under 21 for family reasons, whatever those might be, according to alcohol.org.
