Data Breach At Sonic Drive-Ins Could Affect Millions Of Customers

If you have dined in or out at Sonic over the past year, your personal information may have been compromised.

Sonic has 3600 locations around the United States and three locations around Northern Illinois:

• Loves Park
• DeKalb
• Cherry Valley

If you used a credit or debit card to pay for your purchases, you are highly encouraged to monitor your card statements closely.

Sonic Drive-In, officials said that they had been notified of “unusual activity” regarding credit and debit cards used at it's locations. KrebsOnSecurity reports:

The ongoing breach may have led to a fire sale on millions of stolen credit and debit card accounts that are now being peddled in shadowy underground cybercrime stores

Sonic issued the following statement:

It is unknown if the data breach includes the Loves Park, DeKalb and Cherry Valley Sonic Drive-In locations.
