Illinois T-Mobile Customers Still Waiting on Payout; Settlement Delayed Again
If you jumped into the mix to get your cut of the T-Mobile data breach settlement, you're going to have to wait just a little longer.
The Delay Is Official, and Payouts Are Pushed to May
Originally, those payouts were expected to go out in April. Now the timeline has shifted, and money is expected to start landing sometime in May.
The reason? “Unexpected delays,” according to the settlement administrator. Since all the court stuff is wrapped, it’s probably just the massive stack of checks and digital payments being processed.
This Settlement Goes Back to a 2021 T-Mobile Cyberattack
In case you forgot what this was all about, the $350 million settlement comes from a 2021 cyberattack that exposed the personal data of 76 million T-Mobile customers. That includes names, addresses, and Social Security numbers.

T-Mobile admitted no wrongdoing but still agreed to pay. Which is kind of a "we didn’t do it, but here’s $350 million anyway" move.
Payout Amounts Will Vary by What You Filed
Payouts range widely. People who filed claims with documentation of identity theft or fraud could get up to $25,000. Those who didn’t provide proof are in line for smaller payments, most around $25, though California residents could get $100.
Notices went out back in 2022, so if you filed and forgot about it, you're not alone. If you're unsure if you’re eligible, you can check your status or file at t-mobilesettlement.com, or call 1-833-512-2314.
