If you're like me, your family is probably busy thinking about how to celebrate the holidays this year. Thanksgiving and Christmas usually involve big family celebrations for us, but since gatherings like that are being frowned upon this year, we will likely just gather with immediate family members.

Thinking about less parties and holiday events taking place in 2020 can be a bit sad, so instead I am choosing to focus on what we can do this year...spend more quality time with those closest to us, and making new holiday tradtions!

Speaking of holiday traditions, my family started a new one last year by going to Summerfield Zoo's Christmas Town in Belvidere.

If you have children who still believe, you need to take them to experience Santa's Reindeer Barn at Summerfield Zoo. Not only will they be able to see all of Santa's reindeers up close, but they can take a pic with them, pet them, and even and see the babies go through flight school. My kids absolutely LOVED it, and my husband and I did too...

Pictures with Santa, gift shopping and plenty of holiday cheer also await you at Christmas Town, but since COVID-19 is still in our lives, the way it operates will be slightly different this year at Summerfield Zoo. Specific operation changes are still in the works, but I can tell you this, reservations will need to be made for the Reindeer Barn in advance this year and masks will be required.

As of right now, Christmas Town at Summerfield Zoo is set to open on Friday, November 13, 2020, and will run Friday through Sunday until December 20, 2020.

Keep a close eye on summerfieldfarmandzoo.com for when ticket/reservation information is released so you don't miss the chance to take your family to experience a little Christmas magic for yourself this year!
