They are just starting to pop up, roadside sweet corn stands and I couldn't be happier! With all the rain we've gotten, this year looks like we'll have a bumper crop. So now, the big question: Where to get the best tasting locally grown sweet corn?

I joke that "I'm cornfed and proud of it!". Yes, it's true, from late July to Mid September, I'll admit it, I will eat locally grown sweet corn on the cob four or five times a week without blinking. The best sweet corn is the corn that is grown on farms right here in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

Sweet corn season runs through mid September here in the Stateline and, in my opinion, the 'best of the best' locally grown sweet corn can be purchased between the final week of July through mid August.

Keep in Mind, you will not find this great tasting sweet corn at most local super markets, but you will find it area roadside corn stands and at local farms. I know this from personal experience.

With this in mind, I pose to you, who has the area’s best tasting sweet corn? Here are some of the sweet corn on the cob vendors you nominated back in 2016. We are looking for the best of 2017!
