Being the owner of a Chocolate Lab myself, I can relate to this story. You won't believe what a Pennsylvania Veterinarian found while performing surgery on this Black Lab recently.

If your dog has swallowed some unusual items recently, you know all too well the price of surgery for your pet. My dog Gunnar swallowed a .99 cent rubber ball and it cost me thousands of dollars to remove it. You'll be amazed at what a Pennsylvania Veterinarian found when helping a Black Lab.

The Vet retrieved 62 hair bands, eight pairs of underwear and a bandage from the dog's stomach during exploratory surgery.

According to NBC Chicago, the head technician at Good Shepherd's Veterinary Hospital that the black Lab, named Tiki, wasn't responding to medicine for vomiting, diarrhea and a loss of appetite, and X-rays showed a mass in its stomach.

Last week's surgery lasted two hours, and the vet and his technician were shocked at the items that were pulled out.

The dog's owner, Sara Weiss, says Tiki once swallowed a plastic foam dart, but that passed through the dog's system naturally.

Looks like Tiki will be watched a little closer these days.
