Next time you're traveling and have a hankering for some barbecue, the Food Network has revealed their latest 50 States of Barbecue list that will lead you to the best in the area.
According to their list, here are some of the top barbecue joints around the Midwest:
At 17th Street Bar & Grill, owner Mike Mills is called "The Legend," a fitting title for this three-time Grand World Champion of BBQ.
Fill up on hickory-smoked pulled pork sandwiches slathered in Memphis-style sauce while sipping BYO adult beverages from coolers on picnic tables in the relaxed outdoor garden.
Pork and beef are slowly cooked for 25 to 30 hours in a large smoker outside that burns only firewood.
Diners get their own food, through a buffet line that passes through the kitchen, where they pick up white-oak-smoked meats including chicken, pulled pork, spare ribs and sausage.
