Weekends at The Baseball Tap in downtown Cherry Valley are about to get a whole lot more delicious with the addition of the Whiskey Hotel Barbecue truck.

What's The Baseball Tap?

The Baseball Tap and I have a long history that many of my family and friends love to make fun of me about.

I grew up in the Cherry Valley area, and my entire family has spent a LOT of time drinking and eating at bars and restaurants in the Village.

I used to meet friends weekly at the Backyard Bar & Grill when it was open in downtown Cherry Valley, and sometimes we would take our shenanigans across the street to "Package Goods".

Now you're probably wondering what "Package Goods" is, right?

Package Goods is actually the Baseball Tap, but for years there wasn't a sign that said that name anywhere on the building. The only sign you could see from the street was an Old Style sign that said, you guessed it, "Package Goods".

Truth be told, I never knew the real name of this bar until about 15 years ago, but in my heart Baseball Tap will always remain Package Goods.

Now, let's fast forward to the present and the cool things happening at Baseball Tap this summer.

BBQ At The Baseball Tap

If you've never enjoyed a meal at the Baseball Tap in Cherry Valley before, you need to go ASAP, especially now that they will have barbeque on the menu every weekend!

A post on Baseball Tap's Facebook says:

One year ago, Will (Whiskey Hotel Barbecue) and Ryan (Baseball Tap) partnered up for the first time at the Pec Thing and have continued this situationship over the year with BBQ cookoffs, Whole Hog roasting, and general meat merriment. It’s time to DTR (define the relationship) and make this meatcentric bromance official. While a new joint BBQ brand is still in development, Will will be joining Ryan at the Baseball Tap every Friday through the end of May, and Fridays and Saturdays starting in June.
