A Huge Clue May Reveal Cherry Valley’s New Mystery Restaurant

A new restaurant is coming to The Bricks in Cherry Valley, Illinois, and I think I've cracked the clues to what kind of restaurant it will be.

For people in the Cherry Valley area, the wait for a restaurant announcement at The Bricks has felt a little like waiting years for the next season of your favorite TV show.

When construction began on this new shopping and event venue in 2021, we always knew a rooftop restaurant was in the plans.

We watched the building go up.

We got excited when The Bricks officially opened in 2022.

We welcomed a bunch of new businesses into the store suites.

Now nearly four years later, The Bricks still doesn't feature a restaurant, but... that's all about to change.

Here are a few things we know about the new restaurant opening in The Bricks:

1. The space is beautiful and features a rooftop bar.
2. The lease was just signed, so the restaurant's grand opening is still a ways off.

Andnhere's what we still don't know about new restaurant opening in The Bricks:

1. The name of the restaurant.
2. The opening date.
3. What kind of food this restaurant will be serving.

After taking a deep dive in the comments of The Bricks' post and doing a little Cherry Valley gossip sleuthing, I can say with full confidence, I believe this new restaurant will be serving delicious Mexican food. Here's why:

Obviously, I don't believe a Bricks janitor is really spreading false taco rumors, but I do find it interesting that The Bricks' post called out Robb Firch's response specifically saying: "your rumor from Dave wasn't too far off." Hmmm.

MAYBE the announcement coming on cinco de Mayo is a great hint to the food!

Are these the owners of the closed Los Panchos in Sycamore? I loved that place and was sad to see it close.

I'm thinking a rooftop patio with margaritas and tacos in downtown Cherry Valley sounds like something people would absolutely show up for. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
