According to The Odyssey Online, here's how they defined the 10 seasons in Chicago, which also work for most of Illinois and Wisconsin:

  • Winter (Early December through End of February)
  • Fool's Spring (Late February to Mid or Late March)
  • Third Winter (Approximately Mid March to Early or Mid April)
  • The Pollening (Early April to Late April)
  • Actual Spring (Early May to Late May)
  • Summer (Early June to Mid July)
  • Hell's Front Porch (Mid July to End of August)
  • False Fall (Late August or Early September to Mid September)
  • Second Summer (Mid to Late September to Early October)
  • Actual Fall (Early October to End of November

Looks like Third Winter may have arrived earlier than normal with another chance of snow coming before the weekend.
