Several families in our area spent another Christmas without their father, their husband, their friend all because they made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgeson has formed a committee to find a way to honor the lost lives of those in law enforcement in Southeastern Minnesota.

Every day our law enforcement officers risk their lives to keep our communities safe. Sometimes, unfortunately, that risk becomes a reality. These fallen officers deserve to be recognized for their ultimate sacrifice. The proposed memorial will help us honor and remember our heroes.

The Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation of Southeast Minnesota is hoping to have the memorial built at Soldiers Field in Rochester by 2022. It all depends on how fast they can raise money.

You can help. Tell a friend. Donate if you can. Get the word out there.
