If your house sounds anything like mine right now, you've probably heard the phrase, "Mom...I'm boooored," approximately 4,972 times already this summer.

My kids can go from swimming in the pool, playing Roblox, raiding the pantry, and watching a movie to claiming there's "nothing to do" in under 15 minutes. Frankly, I'm about to lose my mind.

At this point in summer break, I think every Northern Illinois parent is looking for fun day trips to take their kids on that aren't far from home and don't cost a ton of money. Thankfully, we have a long list of great options to choose from that are all located within two hours from the Rockford area.
