It's been almost two years since two of the (what might be) oldest Amish homes were moved from preservation in southern Illinois and here's how it happened.

This would be the second time the homes were moved, the first being in 1999 in order to not be torn down. There's no info the manner in which these homes were moved in '99 but there's a great video of its second relocation.

The process began with 8 horses pulling a home weighing a hefty 45 tons, in traditionally Amish culture. The venture was completed by flatbeds due to Illinois highway laws.

I would be lying if I told you I'd just think, "so horsepower is a real thing."
