If you see Uber drivers in the Rockford area protesting, there is a good reason why.

According to 247wallst.com, Uber drivers across the nation are protesting today because they want a livable wage. These are peaceful protest, but could disrupt your plans if you use Uber as they are preparing to go on strike today.

Uber drivers are looking to make a $15 an hour wage. This wage request is what people who work at fast food restaurants and retail shops are wanting.

I used Uber for the first time last week, and I was impressed with the service. It is quick, they offer clean cars and the people who I dealt with were friendly.

According to the article:

"In terms of the nitty-gritty, Uber drivers in two-dozen cities from New York to Los Angeles will be taking part in the Fight for $15’s “Day of Disruption.” Some say this will go as far as idling their cars and even risking arrest to demand an economy that works for all, not just the upper crust."

You won't see any of this happening here in Rockford. But if you have plans to take a fight out of O'hare or Midway, you may see some activity.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Uber drivers should be paid more?
