Sometimes it takes an old picture to put things in perspective. The DeKalb and Ogle County Sheriff's Department are in the process of collecting items and photos that have been found in the disaster clean up as a result of the tornadoes that struck DeKalb and Ogle counties.

For many people an old photo is a precious thing.

There are a thousand wonderful stories surrounding the Fairdale Disaster. Fairdale continues to move forward quickly, things may slow a little with the possibility of rain beginning on Sunday for a a couple of days, but we will still move forward. Our thanks to all the agencies, organizations and people who have come forward and continue to support and help the Fairdale area residents.

Regular Sheriff’s Office Services and Patrol have continued uninterrupted throughout the disaster aftermath. We sincerely appreciate the support of DeKalb County and surrounding area law enforcement and fire agencies.

State Route 72 is open as of Monday, however access to Fairdale remains limited.

 

Debris removal continues in the Fairdale area. Restricted access to Fairdale remains in effect as well.
