Rockford Park District's financial struggles could lead to the sale of Rockford's iconic Magic Waters Waterpark.  According to RRStar, the financial burden has caused lawmakers to get the "OK" to approach selling the water park without voter approval. (Read more here.)

Let's skip ahead and pretend Magic Waters is sold. It could lead to three things that could help attendance.

1. Allow Coolers/Outside Food

When the "no coolers/outside food" rule was put into effect there were complaints from guests, even though there are plenty of picnic areas outside of the park.

2. Alcohol Sales

This isn't unheard of at waterparks throughout the United States, but playing devil's advocate I can see where some would have concerns about booze at attractions catered to families.

3. Bonus Entertainment

Live entertainment could be a way to bring in more guests. There's plenty of room for bands and/or DJs. Maybe the return of the old school Wet Wednesdays?
