As our city mourns the loss of Officer Jaimie Cox many businesses, including SwedishAmerican Hospital, are showing their support during this painful time.

The hospital's campus is going blue in honor of the fallen officer.

According to the press release we received here at Q98.5 from Katryna Kirby of SA Health Systems,"SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health is turning its campus blue in honor of fallen Rockford Police Officer Jaimie Cox."

The hospital has "has placed blue bows in front of the Emergency Department, Heart Hospital and main hospital entrances to honor Officer Cox and all first responders."

In addition to the blue bows on the entrances, the hospital "is also dedicating a tree near the Emergency Department entrance to be filled with blue ribbons. Hundreds of SwedishAmerican associates will tie a ribbon on the tree both Wednesday, November 8 and Thursday, November 9 to show their support."

This is gives me the goosebumps and tears are welling up in my eyes.

No matter what bad has fallen on our city, it's awesome to see that it hasn't crushed our spirit. I love seeing the community come together and take a stand for all our first responders and to honor the life of Jaimie Cox.
