Shark Spotted in the Chicago River During St. Patrick’s Day Event?

As if I needed another reason to avoid the Chicago River, a shark was reportedly spotted during the St. Patrick's Day green dye event over the weekend.

Netflix Marketing Stunt Promotes New Movie “Thrash”

Before you start wondering if it was a real shark (honestly, with that river, who knows what’s in there), it turns out this was just a stunt to promote a new Netflix movie called Thrash.

The timing couldn't be better. With Thrash, a shark disaster movie, coming out April 10th, Netflix decided to freak everyone out by putting shark fins in the river during the St. Patrick's Day parade.

Is “Thrash” the Next Jaws or Sharknado?

It’s the kind of marketing that makes me want to check out the movie. I also have so many questions about a title like Thrash. Is it comparable to Sharknado? Is it a serious kind of shark movie? Kind of like a new version of Jaws?

Clever Marketing or Just Plain Weird?

You know I love movies, so it only takes a little bit to get me interested. You've got to admit, it was a clever idea, and whether or not those fins are fake, I can't stop thinking about Thrash, and I'm still not swimming in the Chicago River.
