This Saturday, August 17, is the National Clear the Shelters Pet Adoption Event, and Winnebago County Animal Services in Rockford will be joining over 1,000 shelters nationwide who be offering fee-waived pet adoptions this Saturday.

According to a press release from Winnebago County Animal Services;

Winnebago County Animal Services (WCAS) is offering fee waived adoptions on cats and dogs (6 months and older) at the 4517 North Main Street facility only on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 11am to 3:30pm. Pre-select adoptions are not included in this one day event. All adoptions include a free wellness exam, spay or neuter, microchip, vaccinations including a one year rabies shot, flea and tick preventative, and more. Winnebago County residents also receive a one year rabies registration tag. In order to adopt, you must have an approved adoption application by WCAS and present a State-issued photo ID. Adopters with a Pre-Approved Card will have the first option to enter the building and will line up in a separate line. Adopters are encouraged to have their application pre-approved and pick up their card prior to the event.
