My husband is a big fan of buying things on Craigslist, and although I do appreciate the deals he manages to get, I have always been uncomfortable about how these transactions take place. Turns out there's a good reason to be worried, and this latest situation hits a little too close to home.

According to the Rockford Police Department, two people traveled to the 2900 block of Bildahl Street in Rockford around 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday night with the hopes of buying an ATV they saw advertised on Craigslist, but instead the two "sellers" robbed them by gunpoint.

According to the Rockford Register Star;

The victims, a 34-year-old man and a 17-year-old male, were told the four-wheel vehicle was in a garage. When they got behind the residence, one of the assailants produced a handgun and demanded their money, personal belongings and items from their vehicle, Rockford Police Department officers reported.

No one was injured.

The assailants fled the area in a white Pontiac Grand-Am northbound through an alley.

The suspects were described as black men, one was in his 20s, armed with a handgun, had neck-length hair and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, red shirt and jeans. The second man was wearing dark clothing.

No arrests have been made yet, so if you have any information regarding this case please call the Rockford Police Department at 815-987-5824 or Crime Stoppers at 815-963-1374.
