We've been at home for months now hatching our most insane recipes.

What else are you supposed to do when there's literally nothing else to do?

I mean sure, you could take a walk. Walks were fine for the first 6 months of quarantine.

I'm over it. Now it's time to eat. Not saying I haven't been cooking and eating the entire time, but now it's time to put those culinary skills to the test.

It's not a food challenge per se, it's more of a "creative" food challenge if you will.

Old Chicago, 6280 East State Street, is offering someone a chance to create a delicious pizza that they will add to their menu and in turn give a full year of free pizza if that recipe is chosen.

The contest has already begun and officially wraps up on October 18. Start creating your very own pizza HERE.

My submission for the contest was a breakfast pizza I lamely called "The Sweet Lenny."

  • Mix eggs, pork sausage, hash browns, and cheddar cheese.
  • Drizzle syrup on the crust.
  • Add egg mixture.
  • Top with parmesan.

That might not win the prize at Old Chicago, but that's where I'm at in my life.

Besides giving out a year of pizza, Old Chicago is also celebrating National Pizza Month by helping out No Kid Hungry. Guests can donate in person or online $1, $5, or $10.
