Granite City's parent company filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy and led its Rockford location to believe everything was ok. Will this be the same for Old Chicago?

This week Granite City Food & Brewery permanently closed its Rockford location a few months after its parent company filed bankruptcy in December 2019. Some staff was convinced Rockford's location would fall into the "closed" category, even hiring new staff as recent as less than a week ago. Now, Old Chicago's owner announced they too are filing bankruptcy. This might be a doom and gloom story.

CraftWorks (owner of Old Chicago, Logan’s Roadhouse, Gordon Biersch and Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery) has already closed a few locations due to poor performance. As far as the remain restaurants, they may be safe.

The Company remains focused on creating perfectly crafted dining experiences and is continuing to honor all gift cards and all loyalty programs. Its 77 franchise locations are not included in the proceedings and continue to operate as usual.

Rockford's Old Chicago location appears to have constant traffic so maybe this will not end like Granite City by CherryVale Mall did. We hope.
