For the first time in 4 years, 29-year-old Ken Markley was able to leave his home for a social engagement thanks to the generosity and kindness of his hospice caretakers and some local businesses.

Ken Markley was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at age 3, and he can no longer breathe on his own or move his arms or legs. His younger brother, Phil suffered from the same disease and passed away in 2011 at the age of 22. Phil's birthday was January 27, so yesterday Ken not only got to take some time to remember his brother, but also check a major item off his bucket list.

After hearing stories like this, I am proud to live along side people willing to make the dreams of others come true. To all the people who made this day possible for Ken, I say "God Bless You!" Hopefully other members of this community will take note of your shining example.
