Just a couple weeks ago we were enjoying temperatures in the 80's, now we are talking snow.

There, I've said it SNOW! The Rockford area could see it's first snowflakes of the season, during the early morning hours of Wednesday.

Candace King of the Eyewitness News First Warn Weather Center e-mailed me to let em know that tonight, the Rockford area will experience temperatures that will dip down to 34 degrees. Plus the rain we are getting, will mix with wet snow after daybreak. Wednesday's forecast...

Chance of a rain/snow mix by daybreak (not everyone will see this) – Mostly cloudy – Highs near 49 degrees

Kids, you can count on school tomorrow, so do your homework, the snow will not amount to much. .

The National Weather Service predicts that another strong cold front will send temps plummeting well below normal by the weekend likely resulting in the end of the growing season, so, say goodbye to your garden and thankfully, you weeds will go bye-bye, too.

Northern Illinois typically sees its first freeze between Oct. 21 and Oct. 30, so we are right on schedule..
