Road Construction for Route 72

Hey it's that season again. Road Construction.

If you live in Monroe Center, be prepared for those beautiful orange cones of construction set up along Route 72.

IDOT just announced that road work will begin next week in the 4.7 mile section of IL 72 from I-39 to the DeKalb/Ogle County line west of Fairdale.

The work will involve placing new storm sewers, curbs and sidewalk work in Monroe Center along with making pavement repairs and resurfacing sections of IL 72.

This $1.5 Million project is expected to be completed by the end of August.

I just wanted to give you a heads up and be prepared to leave home a little earlier in mornings due to the roads being cut down to a single lane.
