Ogle County Names May 1st ‘Whitney Fritz Day’

Whitney Fritz of Byron, IL is a true survivor story. Doctors once said she wouldn't live past 6 years old, but 14 years and 40 surgeries later, Whitney is now almost 20 years old and constantly inspiring everyone she meets with her true warrior spirit. 

We first learned of Whitney's story of strength during the holiday season when the Stateline was asked to send Whitney well wishes in the form of holiday cards. Thousands of people responded, making Whitney's Christmas wish come true, and now this amazing young woman has received another honor from Ogle County.
