There was plenty of conversation among commenters after news came out yesterday about a Rockford-area student-athlete committing to a school.

Shared by the Illinois Fighting Illini on 247Sports, Caden Considine, a senior at Byron High School, said anytime he talks to Illinois Head Coach Bret Bielema, "something just clicks" and "Coach B is the best of the best, and I can't wait to help this team win some big football games in the future."

A Big Commitment for a Rockford-Area Standout

During Considine's time in Byron, he definitely helped his team win. Accounting for over 2000 rushing yards and 40 touchdowns during his senior season on the gridiron. Considine then capped off a monster season with another state title, the second during his time as a student.

Overall, Considine rushed for over 5,100 yards and 82 total touchdowns.

Why Illinois Felt Like the Right Fit

Comments on Facebook range from highlighting his impressive performance in the most recent 3A football final, where Considine rushed for 367 yards, scored 3 touchdowns, and clinched the game with a pass breakup on defense, to how glad fans of the program are that he chose to play in-state as opposed to going somewhere else.
