New Report Says A Teeth Chattering Winter Is In Store For Illinois

If you were happy to hear that Illinois was in for a mild winter, I'm sorry to have to burst your bubble.

A new report is saying that a teeth-chattering season will be in store for us.

Oh no!

I'm not liking this. I'm not liking this at all.

NBC Chicago shares that the Farmer's Almanac is reporting a conflicting winter forecast from what the Old Farmer's Almanac originally stated.

The Old Farmer's Almanac predicted that our winter "called for above-average temperatures for much of the country during the winter season."

However, the Farmer's Almanac's latest prediction is saying that "the Great Lakes will likely see teeth-chattering temperatures mid-February as an Arctic front brings “blustery and bitter winds, a sharp drop in temperature, and widespread snow showers.”

Oh, awesome. NOT!

The only thing that both reports can agree on is that we will see "above-normal precipitation."

The good news is that both books say that the weather from "October through December is expected to see above-average temperatures with normal precipitation."

So what does that mean for us after December?

Don't pack your heavy winter gear, down-filled coats, shovels, ice melt and the like away. You better keep them within reach.

It looks like we may be in for a wild winter ride.
