New East High School Principal Announced

He grew up grew up less than a mile from East High School and now he will become the new Principal.

The Rockford Register Star is reporting that Peter Verona has been tapped to lead East High School. Pending approval of the school board, Verona will take over in July and comes from Byron High School where he has served as principal for the last four years.

Verona in the past has worked as an assistant principal at Guilford and Jefferson high schools.

The Register Star reports that Verona plans on developing a plan to build relationships with parents, staff and students.

Verona will be paid an annual salary is $114,000. Verona takes over for East Principal Patrick Enright. Enright was paid $110,889 annually.
