New App Lists Backyard Pools for Rent in Illinois and Beyond

Looking to rent a pool but not a house?

Need a place to dip your toes and cool off but don't want to actually own the thing?

Incredibly, there's an app for that. Just download Swimply and search for pools around you.

Of course, as a non-pool owner who wouldn't mind taking a swim every now and then, I decided to see for myself.

I typed in "Rockford," and lo and behold, a result comes up. Actually, just a result. One.

Yes, there's only one place to rent a pool in Rockford on the Swimply app.

The pool seems like the goods, set at $54 an hour. Not sure if I should be offended by that price. What's the going rate for pool rentals these days?

So if you can stomach the hourly fee, this place sounds alright. Located in Rockford, the listing on Swimply says the pool is "located on 2.7 acres, on the south side just outside of Rockford, IL. Great for family fun getaways, small corporate events, private events, private parties, or just a nice getaway."

The pool owners do mention that this is a "family-friendly Christian environment with no foul language" and there's "no alcohol, no running or diving" at the pool either.

So if you like to stand in a pool, swear and get drunk this might not be the pool for you, and that probably means I'm out.

There are other pool rentals in Illinois just by typing in "Chicago." For me, I got 8 different listings in the area. A few didn't have pictures though. Who's renting a pool that doesn't have pictures?
