Mother Charged With Murdering A.J. Freund Gave Birth in Prison

Earlier this year we learned about the tragic case of AJ Freund. AJ was a 5-year old boy from Crystal Lake, IL who was murdered. The mother and father were ordered held on $5 million bail each after they were each charged with murder.

One interest part of this case was that during this whole trial the mother of AJ was pregnant with another child. Well, the woman charged with murdering her young son has given birth behind bars.

A source from DCSF has announced that she has given birth to a baby girl while in prison. WGN details -

She has agreed to keep the child in DCFS custody.

A judge has ordered paternity tests. Cunningham and her ex-boyfriend Andrew Freund Sr are accused of killing 5-year-old A.J. Freund in April and hiding his body. Both are being held at the McHenry County jail. A.J.’s younger brother continues to be in the care of DCFS.
