Many of the Loves Park Police officers are looking a little scruffy lately. That's because they're ignoring their departments rule about shaving.

The Loves Park Police Department enforce that officers should be clean shaven with their "personal appearance policy". (Rockford Scanner)

However, this month the department is suspending this policy in order for their officers to participate in the "No Shave November" program.

According to No-Shave.org, "is a web-based, non-profit organization devoted to growing cancer awareness and raising funds to support cancer prevention, research, and education. No-Shave November is a month-long journey during which participants forgo shaving and grooming in order to evoke conversation and raise cancer awareness."

The Loves Park Police posted their anti-shaving actions on their facebook page.

Not only are the officers donating, but if you would like to support them in their en-devours this month too. You can make any size of monetary donation to the the Loves Park Police Department 540 Loves Park Drive Loves Park, IL 61111 in care of No-Shave November.
