Christmas came a little early for this food bank.

They received the best present ever from the new Dunkin Donuts in Machesney Park.

The Northern Illinois Food Bank was given a check this morning for $500 from donations that Dunkin Donuts collected for them.

Northern Illinois Food Bank representative, Joelle Duke, was on hand to collect the generous gift and stated that this check will provide over $16,000 worth of meals to needy families in the stateline area due to their meal matching challenge that is going right now.

WOW! that money will certainly provide many nutritious meals for hungry families just in time for the holidays too.

I spoke to Joelle at the ceremony and she told me that every dollar no matter the amount can go a long way in feeding the hungry here in Illinois.

She sais that a donation of $1.00 is worth $8.00 in meals, and a gift of $20.00 is worth or equal to $160.00 in meals. then you take those gifts and double them as they have a matching challenge and those dollars turn into $16.00 from the $1.00 and $320.00 from the $20.00.

Can we say awesome?
