One of the best programs the Rockford Park District hosts is Learn To Skate.

When the pandemic hit Rockford, that and many other park district programs ground to a halt.

Now as we're learning to live in our "new normal" the Rockford Park District announced yesterday they're bringing back Learn to Skate for anyone 2 and up who wants to learn how to ice skate. Whether it be for hockey or figure skating it doesn't matter.

Personally, it's a great program and just the thing many families have been looking for.

If you're in a situation like me, where you have kids who normally play football in the fall but are now looking for something new to do, this is a great option.

My oldest child came up with the Jr. IceHogs at the Rockford Park District and now my youngest son is starting to show interest too.

A few weeks ago when we decided it was time to get him on the ice I was disappointed to see that the program wasn't being offered. Now I know I can get my soon to be five-year-old son on skates.

I'm very excited to see how this whole program shakes out, sessions start on September 10.

Sign up at https://rockfordparkdistrict.org/skating and hopefully, we'll see you on the ice.
