When booking a hotel, what are the things you look for? Affordability? Complimentary breakfast? The right location? Good reviews? Before hitting that "confirm stay" button, you might want to see this list of hotels to avoid.

Some have terrible breakfast, others have horrible service, and one common element across the board - lots of negative reviews.

Here are the worst hotels in America brought to you by 24/7 WallST.

Motel 6 kicks off the list at number 6. They scored a 3 out 5 star from 247WallSt. "The chain sits as an economy option for customers, which is likely part of the reason that it isn’t well-loved by the people who stay. When it comes to lodging, the most cost-efficient options generally don’t score the best."

Next is Hampton by Hilton, formerly Hampton Inn, also with a 3/5 star rating. "The brand sits as a mid-level budget option from Hilton, designed to compete against similar brands like Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Comfort Inn." - 24/7 Wall St.

Fun fact, Wyndham actually owns 20 individual brands (including Days Inn AND the next up on this list). They claim to be the largest hotel brand in the world. Their self-named chain takes the number 3 spot on this list with a 24/7 Wall St score of 2.7.

Ramada was bought out by Wyndham about 20 years ago, and 24/7 Wall St says, they have "multiple tiers of Ramada and none of them are good." Ouch. Can't say I've stayed at a Ramada or at least I cannot remember staying there if I have. Ramada scored a 2.4 out of 5 on the 24/7 Wall St scale.

"If you want to make sure your customers don’t like you, mess with their breakfast and charge them when they weren’t expecting it!" - 24/7 Wall St. Ruh-roh. They apparently have bad reviews because of their "hidden fees and extremely limited breakfast items."

They scored a whopping 2.3 out of 5 with 24/7 Wall St and because of that, takes the cake as the worst hotel.
