Using stats that look at a community's "crime, widespread unemployment, poor health outcomes, and limited access to essential services," a new ranking of the Worst Cities to live in each state was released by 24/7 Wall St.

Cities in the Midwest That Are the Worst To Live In

Denison, Iowa

Denison has a poverty rate of over 25 percent, more than double the state average (11). The median income for a resident is around $45,000, which is over $20,000 less than the Iowa state average.

Cambridge, Minnesota

Cambridge's poverty rate is lower than the state average, but the median home value and income are dramatically lower than the rest of Minnesota.

Beecher, Michigan

This suburb of Flint has a poverty rate of more than 32 percent and a drug-induced mortality rate of 47.7 deaths per 100,000 residents.

Lake Station, Indiana

Lake Station has a high drug-induced mortality rate of 37.8 deaths per 100,000 people and a poverty rate of 18 percent.

Two Rivers, Wisconsin

I have to admit, not sure why 24/7 Wall St has Two Rivers as the worst place to live in the state other than the town has a drug-induced mortality rate of 20.9 deaths per 100,000 residents, which is still lower than the state average.

Worst Place to Live in the Entire State of Illinois

Cahokia, Illinois was ranked Worst by 24/7 Wall St with a poverty rate of 35 percent, more than 3 times higher than the state average (11.8). Drug deaths are high with a mortality rate of 36.5 deaths for 100,000 people.
