I was thinking to myself how it's been a while since I've been to a new pizza place. Looks like I just found two I need to hit up real quick.

That's because these two were included among 16 other Illinois restaurants on OpenTable's 2025 Top 100 Restaurants list, which uses "insights and reviews" from users and diners of the popular table booking app.

Less than half of the United States is represented on the list, but these pizza joints are legit destinations for anyone looking for the best of the best.

PIZZ'AMICI Praised for Chicago Tavern Style Pizza

PIZZ'AMICI, at 1215 West Grand Avenue in Chicago, is a 4.8 out of 5 on OpenTable, and people are raving, calling it the "best tavern style pizza in the entire world" and "to say it's worth the hype is an understatement."

Pizzeria Portofino Earns High Marks for Service and Flavor

The other pizza joint, Pizzeria Portofino, at 317 North Clark Street in Chicago, has a 4.7 out of 5 rating on OpenTable. People called their experience "unreal" and the service and food "amazing," while the pizzas were a highlight in many different reviews.

Illinois Stands Alone for Pizza on This National List

You won't typically see too many best-of-restaurant lists feature pizza joints among their top 100, but this one from OpenTable had two, and they are both from Illinois, but that's it. There wasn't another state on the list that cracked the top 100 and featured pizza heavily.
