If you're headed downstate for the sold-out concert with one of the hottest new stars in country music, you'll be able to get into the venue early.

Gates Open Early for Sold Out Illinois Show

The Illinois State Fair has just announced that fans coming on Sunday, August 10, for Megan Moroney's sold-out show will have extra time to settle into their seats.

In a press release, the Fair announced that the Grandstand will now open at 6 pm, which is two full hours earlier than originally scheduled.

This will help manage the large crowd expected for the Sunday night show, according to the IL State Fair press release.

"We love the energy and excitement of a sold-out show," said Illinois State Fair Manager Rebecca Clark.

Fair officials are urging concertgoers to arrive early, have their digital tickets downloaded, and travel light to make getting through the security line more efficient.

Pre-Show Party and Live Music Add to the Experience

A concert pre-show party will kick off at 4:30 p.m., with tickets still available at Ticketmaster.com.

Only those who purchase a pre-show pass and already have a concert ticket will be admitted, according to management. And the pre-show ticket holders will be allowed onto the track area first.

Exciting Opening Act for Megan Moroney

Adding to the excitement is the announcement of country artist Hunter Flynn as the opening act for Sunday, August 10.

He'll be on the Illinois Lottery Grandstand stage at 7 pm, leading up to Megan Moroney's performance at 8 pm.
