It's totally worth the drive if you want to eat at a place that has been called one of the "most influential" restaurants in the world.

Not only the US, but the entire world is influenced by what happens at Alinea.

Alinea, less than two hours from Rockford, is also now considered Illinois' "most famous" restaurant according to MSN:

Known for bending rules and ignoring the laws of cooking, Alinea focuses on immersive dining, focusing on smells, colors and textures, as well as incredible tastes.

It's also one of the most challenging restaurants to get a table. So difficult in fact, Alinea isn't taking reservations for two through the entire month of November.

Besides, Alinea, 1723 North Halsted Street, is also very expensive. Reservations are prepaid and as low as $210 PER person all the way up to $365.

While it might be expensive and hard to get seated, it's definitely a dining experience that is so much different from the norm it's got to be worth it, right?

Have you been to Alinea in Chicago? Does it live up to the hype?
