Help Name Rockford’s Peregrine Falcon Chicks
The pair of Peregrine Falcons who've made a nest atop the Rockford Register Star's news tower will soon be welcoming 3 chicks into their brood. We need to help name them.
Louise and Gigi will soon be parents to three babies and the Rockford Register Star along with the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau have set up a contest to help name the little ones once they peck their shells open.
"Nominations for boy and girl names can be submitted here, rrstar.com/falconfeed through 11:59 p.m. on May 18."
There are already several names on the nomination list for either sex. You can nominate your favorite from there or create your own and see if others vote on it.
"The top names will [then] become finalists and be placed on a ballot for voting. Voting is expected to occur from noon on May 21 through 11:59 p.m. on May 28."
By the way if your name makes it's all the way through you may be pocketing about $100.
However, that is if all the eggs hatch. If they don't the prize gets whittled down monetarily speaking.
There is a likely hood they won't all hatch.
"In a typical clutch, three to four often hatch. But it’s possible that only one could hatch." Especially since "These are (a) first-time breeding pair. [We’re] more apt to see one [egg] not hatch."
Well let's hope Louise and Gigi beat the odds and all little chicks are born.

Here's a quick video taken on May 10th when there were 4 eggs. One egg broke (Sinnissippi Audubon Society) since this video was taken.
