When visiting the newly built Grubsteakers at the corner of 251 and Route 64 you will notice their new menu gives a special nod to the EF4 Tornado that destroyed the former restaurant 17 months ago.

The restaurant created fresh menus including all their favorite and classic dishes along with two new dishes, that I think proves they have a sense of humor despite the tragedy that hit them on April 9th, 2015.

Their new menu include dishes that pay homage to the EF4 tornado. You can now order up Tornado Waffles or a Tornado Skillet.

Just look at that Tornado Skillet. That thing is huge but looks oh so delicious.

Now that's funny. I guess it goes to prove a couple of of things: that which doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. Which for owner Ava Mirtoska, it proved to be a feat of strength to rebuild after that devastating loss from the tornado. And two: Laughter really is the best medicine.

I think Grubsteakers is getting the last laugh on the EF4 tornado.

By the way the restaurant is now open for business and waiting to welcome you back. Or if you're new, they ready to make you part of the family too.

The restaurant is open Monday through Wednesday from 6am to 9pm and Thursday through Sunday from 6am to 10pm.
