Women around the Stateline area can learn how to protect themselves at a free self-defense seminar happening in Rockford on Monday, April 1st. No matter where you work or live, any woman can benefit from this seminar.

State Rep. Maurice West (D-Rockford), who is hosting the event, says, “While we continue to work to address the root causes of crime within Rockford, we need to give residents the tools they need to better protect themselves,” West said. “Being prepared to handle an attack can help save someone’s life, and I’m thankful for the willingness of the Rockford Police Department to take time to help residents understand how they can better protect themselves if threatened.”

So spread the word! The class is completely free and could end up saving your life. Here is when and where the seminar is happening according to Mystateline -

The seminar will be held at the Rockford Police Department's District 2 station at 1410 Broadway from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Signup will begin at 5:30 pm.
