Shedd Aquarium To Offer Free Days And Extended Hours In September
Illinois residents are getting a special treat as summer winds down. John G. Shedd Aquarium has announced a full month of free days and extended hours for everyone.
Whether you've visited Chicago's Shedd Aquarium in the past or this will be your first time you'll be utterly excited for what is coming after Labor Day.
What To Expect Inside Shedd Aquarium
You can literally take an aquatic trip around the world without even leaving Illinois. Islands, lakes, oceans, the wild reef, and the amazon, are all waiting for you at Shedd Aquarium
From sunny Philippines reefs to the Amazon’s flooded forests, the rugged Pacific Northwest coast to the vast Great Lakes, explore a world thriving with aquatic life.
It's truly a fun and educational experience, not to mention the performances in the Abbott Oceanarium and the 4-D experiences.
The reality is not all guests and families can afford a trip to the aquarium when factoring in the normal admission ($39.95/$29.95), parking, gas, food, etc. This is a great way to welcome those who ordinarily might be about to visit.
Shedd Aquarium Free Days
The exciting news is there will be "free days" for all of September 22 beginning Tuesday the 6th. Every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in September will be free for Illinois families excluding Labor Day.
Not only will admission costs be waived for Illinois residents, but Shedd Aquarium's hours of operation will also be extended to 9 am-9 pm. Tickets must be purchased online and include a $3 service fee. Also, a reservation must be made between 9 am and 7 pm, guests will have a 30-minute window for arrival. You can get your passes here.
