"Oh, how the mighty have fallen", as one Chicago Blackhawks fan described it on Facebook.

The morning of the Chicago Blackhawks' first regular season game is filled with another unfortunate story involving a player for one of the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup winning teams. This time it involves former goalie Ray Emery, who played for Chicago for three seasons.

According to TMZ, Emery was arrested last month for assault with a weapon "uttering a threat to his ex-fiance, Keisha Chante. There were alleged abuse reports prior to the incident leading to his arrest.

We're told Chante -- a singer and former host of BET's "106 & Park" -- had initially gone to authorities seeking a restraining order against Emery, claiming he had abused her several times from July '16 to Sept. '16.

Former NHL star Ray Emery was release on bond and will return to court later this month. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
