Man Found Dead in Early Morning Stabbing in Rockford

Authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that left one person dead under a bridge in downtown Rockford early this morning (10/7).

Early Morning Homicide Under Whitman Street Bridge

According to a press release from the Rockford Police Department, officers were called to the Whitman Street Bridge area around 3:25 am for a reported noise complaint.

When RPD arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from apparent stab wounds, who was pronounced dead on the scene and was later identified as a 37-year-old male.

Investigation Ongoing, Police Seek Information

As of the time this story was published, detectives had not yet released the victim's identity or any information about potential suspects, as the investigation is ongoing.
