Our dogs come along on plenty of family walks and hikes. There are also many dog-friendly restaurants to choose from in Illinois, but sitting on a patio while we eat isn't their idea of an awesome day.
Going on a boat cruise, though? My dogs would LOVE that! Thankfully, one of Chicago's coolest dog-friendly attractions is getting ready to kick off its 2026 season, and it definitely deserves a spot on your family's summer bucket list.
Dog-Friendly Cruises in Chicago
A lot of people don't realize that First Lady Cruises offers special dog-friendly sightseeing cruises on weekends in Chicago, complete with sightseeing, water bowls, snacks, and more.

If your dog enjoys being the center of attention, you may want to wait until October. The popular Howl-O-Ween Canine Cruises return on select October weekends and feature pumpkin-flavored dog treats, costume contests, and prizes for the best-dressed pups.
