Instead of just throwing away your old, unwanted Jack-o-lantern after Halloween, Take it to the Discovery Center after Halloween. Watch catapults set the orange guy aloft and see your pumpkin turn to pulp from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, November 2, for the museum’s annual Smashing Pumpkins event. Here's how to smash your pumpkin after Halloween.

Who wouldn't want to send your jack-o-lantern flying through the air with Discovery Center’s trebuchet, a counterweight catapult used in medieval times. For the smaller pumpkins, there will be a catapult built just for them! According to The Rock RiverTimes, the Discovery Center is also giving you the chance to build a 'launcher' if you like.
